After finishing off the ribbing on Saturday, I thought that surely I'd be able to finish both of the sleeves on Sunday. Ha, not so much. As it stands, I have one sleeve done. Tonight I'll pick up stitches for the other side, knit a bit, and then block whatever I have. It's pretty likely that I'll be able to finish the second sleeve in flight, so it'll still be finished (just not fully blocked) before I get to my grandmother's house. That of course is assuming that they don't take away my needles - 5" Brittany Birch dpns, size 2 US, so hopefully they won't be considered a threat. (I do have a copy of the TSA rules stating that knitting needles are okay, in case the question comes up.)
(Off to work now. Ewwww.)
On the bright side, at least you don't have to worry about which socks to take with you on the plane. :)

Yeah... but you know I'm still going to have socks with me on the plane, just in case I finish the sleeve and still have time to spare. =) (Why I keep thinking I knit much faster than I actually do is a mystery to me too.)

Heh. If it helps, I do the same thing. I'm the worlds slowest knitter,
yet when I go someplace with a sweater on the needles, I'm taking 2
more backup skeins, plus possibly another project. For like, a weekend
getaway.

Excellent! Yeah, I will have a second sock, a second sleeve, a whole new skein of sock yarn, and like, 7 skeins of yarn for my long-ignored clapotis. Oh, and the Wollmeise that's waiting for me. And I'm going yarn shopping in Poland too. All that for two weeks. =)
